Big Brute HEPA helps clean up insulation board waste
February 6, 2013
Hathaway Roofing Ltd in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, are cleaning up dust and waste from cutting insulation board quickly and more safely with a Big Brute HEPA Economy Industrial Vacuum Cleaner.
Hathaway Roofing Ltd is the UK’s leader in the design, manufacture and installation of roof and wall cladding systems, having worked on the ExCel Exhibition Centre in London’s Docklands, Heathrow’s Terminal 5 and on buildings for Sainsbury’s and Airbus.
They were in need of a quick and easy way for the controlled collection of insulation board waste that was missed by the LEV of their cutting machine. Any such waste that wasn’t fully collected was dislodged using a hand brush so that the machine’s LEV could remove it completely.
Shaun Somers, the Factory Supervisor, found out about the Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaners whilst searching on the web.
After getting in touch with us, we recommended the Big Brute HEPA, to provide extra-fine filtration as the dust from the insulation board was considered to be an irritant.
We recommended the Big Brute HEPA in an Economy version with a 5m length of suction hose and a selection of cleaning tools. We recommended the Economy version as the Big Brute itself was to largely remain in the same place by the cutting machine whilst cleaning all round the machine was achieved with the 5m suction hose.
After demonstrating the Big Brute on Hathaway’s production facility, Shaun placed an order that same day. He and his colleagues are already benefiting from a cleaner and safer working environment.
“To suit new Health and Safety Executive advice, we’ve decided to be proactive and implement this HEPA quality cleaning method,” Shaun told us. “It’s time-saving and is a dramatic improvement in the working environment for our employees.”
