Big Brutes Clean Up Oil Spills and Saw Swarf at Tata Steel Special Profiles

Tata Steel in Skinningrove, North Yorkshire, is using a Big Brute Wet & Dry Industrial Vacuum Cleaner to both clean up oil spills and to reduce complaints from their customers.

Tata Steel is considered to be the world’s leading manufacturer of custom designed, hot-rolled special shaped steel profiles, supplying a wide range of industries world-wide including earthmoving equipment, materials handling, shipbuilding and mining.

Andy Clark, Maintenance Engineer, was looking for a solution for two cleaning problems – one of cleaning up oil spills and the other for removing the saw swarf from his stock prior to distribution. Up to that point, Andy and his team had been using absorbent granules for cleaning up oil spills and a smaller vacuum cleaner for removing the swarf.

After finding Big Brutes on the web, Dave Radford, our Big Brute Demonstrator, showed Andy different Big Brute models working on his own site.
