Breakfast Cereal Producer Saves Time and Money with the Big Brutes
September 7, 2011
Whites Speedicook is a large producer of breakfast cereals in Tandragee, Co Armagh.
“We operate out of 4 story buildings with production machinery on each level.
“We needed to be able to thoroughly clean down each piece of plant on each floor.
“Before the Big Brute, we used to have small vacuums on each floor which had limited suction and the necessity to dispose of dust bags continuously.
“Our sister company Fane Valley Co-operative Society Ltd had purchased a Big Brute some years ago and were sufficiently impressed with it to recommend it to us.
“James Mathers, our Operations Manager, contacted Big Brute Ireland to establish which machine we needed and how we could make it work in our 4 story production building.
“We purchased a Big Brute Popular in September 2010 based on these recommendations.
“We were able to install a permanent pipe-work system which connects all levels to the Big Brute Popular Industrial Vacuum Cleaner on the ground floor.
“We can use our hand tool kit by connecting to a pick up point on each level.
“The suction is the same on each level and we’ve been amazed at how efficient this system is – no more running up and down flights of stairs to empty dust bags!
“We now have one machine doing the job of four.
“The Big Brute allows us to work more efficiently using less machinery, fewer man-hours and virtually no maintenance.
“The suction is excellent and the cleaning kit allows us into all the nooks and crannies.
“The plant is cleaned on a daily basis as hygiene is paramount to our production process.
“We were sufficiently impressed with our first machine that we recently purchased a second in June 2011. This time we went for the Big Brute Suck and Dump version with the fork lift attachments. This machine is used in another building and having spent the extra on this machine we’re saving even more time and money.”
